LEGISLATIVE SUPPORT
Legislative Alerts inform members of new happenings at the State Capital which effect dentistry. The Kentucky Dental Association is actively represented in the Kentucky State Legislature on issues related to the dentistry profession and oral health. For example, HB 186 was passed in 2008 requiring a dental screening or examination the first year a school-aged child (age 3 to 6) is enrolled in public school or a Head Start program.
KDA RELIEF FUND
The KDA Relief Fund provides temporary assistance to member dentists who have experienced extreme financial difficulty due to illness, disability, natural disaster or similar problems.
WELL BEING COMMITTEE
This program assists members who have a chemical dependency or substance abuse problem. It is KDA's goal to help members live healthy and productive lives.
NEW DENTIST ROAD MAP
The New Dentist Road Map, a publication sub-titled "Down the Stretch They Come!" contains a checklist outlining the steps necessary to open a dental practice.
