    Registered Dental Hygienist - RDH

    This highly motivated and positive individual assists in the prevention and treatment of oral disease, focusing on periodontal health by monitoring oral hygiene practices and assisting the patient to develop a home care plan to maintain their oral health. Hygienists also can give specific advice on prevention, nutrition, use of fluoride, and smoking cessation.

    • Follow Health & Safety guidelines in all aspects including when taking x-rays, handling mercury, disposing of sharp and clinical waste, resuscitation, emergency procedures and fire drill

    • Follow all practice policies and procedures
    • Obey all dental ethical guidelines including all rules on confidentiality and Data Protection

    Required Qualifications:

    • A two-year Diploma in Dental Hygiene or three-year Oral Health Science Degree
    • MUST be a registered Hygienist in the state of Kentucky
    • General anesthesia license is a preferred
    • Experience using computers and Dentrix software is preferred

In addition to sanitization, our office has taken great measures to ensure protection of overall health, including HEPA air filtration units throughout the office, improvements to the office’s HVAC system, and optimized office structure and flow to best protect anyone that walks through our doors. 

    • Provide optimal patient treatment while maintaining an efficient patient schedule
    • Educate patients and address patients’ needs before and after treatment
    • Accurate record keeping and charting
    • Post Op calls to patients after treatment, as necessary and other communications with patients, as necessary
    • Communicate with the front office about patients’ needs
    • Comfort with technology and dental software; familiarity with Dentrix a plus
    • Any other tasks assigned to improve the office and patient experience, as needed

    Scheduled patient hours are full days on Monday, Wednesdays, and Fridays as well as Thursday mornings. Hygiene administrative and non-patient hours are on Thursday afternoons. This equates to approximately 30-32 hours per week. Additional administrative hours may be considered for the right candidate. Approximately once per month, Saturday morning patient hours are optional but not required.

    • Handles any necessary paperwork for patients appointments.
